How Wembuno works
- Your child picks a mode or follows the Adventure map. Rounds are short, usually one to three minutes.
- Questions change format to keep thinking active: multiple choice, typing the answer, true or false, missing numbers (7 × ? = 56) and, on Easy, pictures of groups.
- Right answers earn stars, coins and combo bonuses. A wrong answer is never punished: the game shows the correct fact with a skip-counting strip, and the fact returns a few questions later.
- Behind the scenes, every fact from 1 × 1 to 12 × 12 has its own memory level. Facts that are missed or answered slowly appear more often; facts answered quickly and correctly move up and are reviewed after longer and longer gaps.
- A fact counts as mastered only after it has been answered correctly and fluently on separate occasions, so a lucky guess never counts.
Skills your child builds
Instant recall
Knowing facts such as 6 × 7 = 42 without counting, from 1 × 1 up to 12 × 12.
Flexible thinking
Seeing that 3 × 8 and 8 × 3 are the same, and using known facts to work out new ones.
Early division
Missing-number questions like ? × 6 = 48 are the first step toward division.
Resilience
Learning that mistakes are part of getting better, thanks to feedback that is always encouraging.
How difficulty works
- Easy: three answer choices, pictures of groups, more time and hints.
- Normal: four choices mixed with typing, true or false and missing numbers.
- Challenge: mostly typing and missing numbers, with shorter time targets.
In Adventure mode, each island starts gently with a Learn stage and builds up to a Challenge stage that also reviews earlier islands. On top of that, the game adapts question by question to the facts your child finds hardest.
Why times tables still matter
Calculators are everywhere, but quick recall of multiplication facts remains one of the strongest foundations for later learning. When facts are automatic, children can focus on the new idea in front of them — long multiplication, division, fractions, area or algebra — instead of getting stuck on 7 × 8. Confidence with the tables also changes how children feel about numbers.

Frequently asked questions
Does my child need an account?
No. Wembuno works without any sign-up. Progress is stored in the browser on the device being used.
Can progress move to another device?
Yes. In the game, open Settings → Grown-up zone → Save progress to a file, then load that file on the other device. The same buttons are at the end of the report above.
Is Wembuno suitable for younger children?
Wembuno is designed for ages 6 to 12. Easy mode uses three choices, pictures and hints, so younger children can start with the 1s, 2s, 5s and 10s.
